My YouTube-Account "dawn.. <something>" is LOST! Lost password, lost email - you needn't to write me a message on YouTube because I would never be able to read it! That's my new one: seim0o

The Project "LED Cube" consists of four basic elements:

Client Software (PC) --- TCP/IP-Socket (Telnet-like) over 10MBit/s Ethernet ---> Microcontroller --- Serial Bitstream ---> Decoder (shift register and amplifier) --- 64+8 wires (64 for the columns, 8 for the layers) ---> Cube's LED grid

- > You can get a package containing the client programms here

The Winamp plugin, Lighthouse and the RapeCube Emulator 2 are currently "closed source"

If you are using Linux, you can use Wine. The binaries including all OpenGL animations should work "out of the box". I've also tested the Winamp plugin in "Linux Mint" (Ubuntu-based) within Wine and it works with some limitations: here

If you're using Mac.. The "RapeCube Emulator 2" except OpenGL works with a package called "WineBottler" so but you will be able to use the 2D-Mode only (maybe Parallels Desktop or something like that might be a way). I've coded a small app with Qt4 that sends commands to my emulator and receives the answer - Qt4 works on Windows, Linux and Mac.

Note: The software will only work with a microcontroller which uses the same socket commands

- > Information about the microcontroller and its firmware you should find here, provided that you speak german ^^ (if not the Google Translator could be a possible solution)

- > Our Decoder is different to the ones on the recently mentioned page, additionally we soldered them onto an etched wiring board (provided that you have access to the necessary hardware we could send you the layout).

- > The necessary 512 LEDs.. well the cheapes way is ebay, I guess.
